STRIVE- Students Turning Responsibility Into Valuable Experience

December 18th, 2009

Saturday, February 27, 2010 our students will participate in an 8-hour day of community service and fundraising. They will spend the day landscaping, building, painting, and cleaning in and around our local community. It is our belief that this service will make a difference in the environment, the community and the lives of our students.

Leaders and students from the Lighthouse will acquire tax-deductible pledges on a per-hour basis for this STRIVE workday. All of the money raised will go toward continuing the relevant programming for the upcoming year.

Watch for our STRIVE Kick-Off in January.

Bless the Lighthouse BLOG

November 6th, 2009

The first phase of our Envision Campaign is underway as construction progresses on our new Children and Student Ministry facility. The next phase of construction calls for destruction of the current Lighthouse Building.  It must be vacated and demolished before construction can move ahead on the new building.  Although it will sit atop the site of the current Lighthouse, the new facility cannot replace the meaning, the impact, and the memories of time spent in the Lighthouse.

Without any doubt, God used a simple building to change lives for all eternity. The website listed below is a place for you to share those memories, those blessings of the Lighthouse.

To submit a blessing, send an email to

blessthelighthouse@heritageumc.com

Please be sure to include your name, groups you were part of, and years spent in the Lighthouse. Messages will be reviewed and posted to the site. Comments and responses to others’  posts are welcome, too.

Be sure to bookmark blessthelighthouse.wordpress.com and visit often to see how the Lighthouse has been a blessing to so many!
